W-well… I used to play a bit of Monster Hunter with some friends…

[And he was the weakest one of the team of course, seeing how the rest of the team was more used to games than he was. Even then, he had developed a liking to playing with them and perhaps playing from time to time didn’t sound as a bad idea in this underground place.
Still, it seemed that this guy’s attitude would prove a bit hard to deal with on the long run so Kyosuke sighed at his actions. Sure, they were both co-workers now but would everything be alright if he keeps on playing when people arrive at the store to rent or buy stuff?]
You could help me out with this too you know?

[He said with little hope that Matt would actually help but he had to try.]
Matt lifted his head at his question. He looked at him, then his game, then back at him. The chances are if he doesn’t help this guy will complain. If he did help though he’d have to put down his game and everything. Matt let out a long sigh, “I could, but do you want me to?” he started walking over to his co-worker taking the video that was in his hand and putting it on the shelf.

This guy really had a stick up his ass too. He works with a stiff, and is married to one. His new life was so great, so great indeed. He’d rather have had the nuclear bomb wipe him out. At least that would be something to talk about, at this rate he was going to die
a
boring
life.

She wasn’t sure if lucky was really the right word considering, yet he seemed so relaxed about the whole idea. Its not that she would dislike his company, she barely knew him and that was precisely why this whole ordeal was ridiculous. “If you want to call it that” she replied with a light shrug of her shoulders, a rather exasperated sigh escaping her lips. Maybe she was the one taking it too seriously and everyone else was just going along with it? She doubted such a thing but he really didn’t seem all that shaken by it all.

“Of course I haven’t heard that one before” in regards to his comment about her being made of water. It seemed people either liked her name or preferred to make puns out of it, by now she’d gotten used to it so the comment went over her head. Raising a gloved hand she rubbed at her temples, this guy really was just taking it as a game. “Let’s just stick to Aqua for now, Matt” she nodded before folding her arms over her chest. “Just so you know I’ll not be regarding these rules or consider you my…husband for obvious reasons” she noted in case for some odd reason he got the wrong idea. “Any way the apartment is this way if you want to tag along?” She asked, though irritated by this whole mess she wouldn’t disregard her manners.
“What are these obvious reasons? Do you have a boyfriend Aqua?” She had an attitude, which was going to make this fun for him. He just smirked at her and nodded his head for her to lead the way. He wondered if she would ever let up. She seemed kind of stiff, “Hopefully you learn to let up,” he shrugged, “Or this wonderful marriage will never work out, and our lovely kids will have an angry household. That would be unfortunate.”

He just took another drag off of his cig and let out a sigh. He was used to dealing with stubborn people due to the fact he grew up in a place full of geniuses so it was natural to learn to adapt. She didn’t seem the genius type though, “Is Aqua your real name?” He was going to insult it, but he determined that it probably wouldn’t go over well.

[Kyosuke felt a bit taken aback from the blunt way this guy expressed but since it seemed they were going to be seeing each other a lot from now on, he thought it would be best to try to at least be at peace with him and tried to mind the least about the way he expressed for now.]
Well, the manager is out for a while and he said to organize the shelves and make sure every disc is in the right place according to genre.

Also, PGS?
[Kyosuke wasn’t exactly an adept at gaming terms since he was pretty much just a little better than a newbie. If it weren’t because of Kuroneko and Saori, he wouldn’t have even a clue as to what the term meant but the only thing that came to mind was a “Portable Game System”.]
Oh, do you mean like a PSP?

If it’s that, there are a few in the backstore. Apparently the technology here is able to reproduce the technology but right now there aren’t many available or so said the manager.
[If that wasn’t what the guy was looking for, Kyosuke had no idea what he meant then.]
Also, the name is Kyosuke, and I guess so.

“Portable gaming system. That goes from anything between gameboys to PSPs.” Matt walked to the back of the store to go get himself one. He didn’t know what kind of games they would have at this place, it didn’t matter since he worked here everything was at a discount. He picked up the most up to date item and made his way back out,
“You don’t play video games do you, big guy?” He could tell since he didn’t know what PGS stood for. Matt started going through the games in the store and picked one out. He brought it over to the desk to check it out and shoved some money in the cash register.

“Kyosuke, I’ll run the cash register. You get to putting stuff in order.” The red head went behind the counter and just started playing his new game. About time he got his entertainment back. That God he decided to work at a Video store.

[Just as if to reply to his vague comment, a voice came from nearby and the comment was a witty one so Kyosuke reacted as if he was doing it to his friend Kouhei.]
When you put it like that, you have a po-

[Then it came to him that he was not even sure if Akagi was alive at all so who was he talking to? He stopped short his sentence and turned around his head to look at a slightly older boy that was leaning against the counter and since he hadn’t seen her the day before when he started working here, he thought he was a customer.]
Ah sorry, may I help you?

“We’re co-workers,” Matt said flatly, he wouldn’t know who he was, so he didn’t really care, “What am I supposed to do?” Since the red head was obviously late for work he wouldn’t know what he was supposed to do, “Looks like you’re the big boy in charge as of right now.” He probably wouldn’t catch the sarcasm in his voice.

“Do we sell PGS? I really need one, that damn nuclear bomb annihilated mine apparently. Tough luck.” He shrugged himself off the counter and walked over to the other boy, “My name is Matt. I’m sure it’s a pleasure to meet each other.” He couldn’t help but use his dry personality in this civ. 9, it was pretty dull to him so far.

[It hadn’t been more than a couple of days since he started living in this place and somehow, Kyosuke was put to work into a video story in the place. He wondered for a bit if people would even want to rent videos or videogames at first but soon he realized that the store wasn’t as dead as he thought it would be. In fact, it could be said that the place was quite active and it should be no wonder, considering people living underground limited the ways to have fun and even if a lot of the movies were pretty “old” if you took into consideration this was the future from Kyosuke’s point of view, there were a lot of movies and videogames available that he had never heard of.
He was assigned to sort out movies by genre and make sure that every shelf was ordered so he started doing his job and did as instructed and everytime he came across a movie he knew, he couldn’t help but smile. To him, it had been a mere couple of days away from his past life and he was already feeling nostalgia from how peaceful his life was. He couldn’t say this sort of life wasn’t peaceful either but it wasn’t exactly what he would wish for.
The bell that sounded everytime someone entered the store rang but he was so focused on his task that he didn’t really payed enough attention and soon forgot there was a new customer browsing through the shelves. After a couple of minutes, he finished with the shelf he was working on and stretched his back.]
Ahhhh~-… This kind of work is not what I imagined I’d like to do once I got out of school.

[He said out loud]
Matt rolled out of bed and pushed his goggles down over his eyes. Today was his first day actually going into work. He was supposed to go in yesterday, but he didn’t really feel like going outside just yet. He realized though he did work at a video store, and maybe they’ll have video games and a PGS there. That thought is what actually got him to go out of bed.
‘Ah man,’ he looked up at the sign that had the stores name on it, ‘whatever.’ He flicked his cigarette out of his hand and pushed opened the door. He saw an average look guy organizing some movies. Must be one of his co-workers.
“… This kind of work is not what I imagined I’d like to do once I got out of school.”
“A nuclear bomb is not what I imagined would happen once I got out of school,” Matt’s voice was monotone, “I guess this job is nothin’ compared to that.” Matt wasn’t trying to be a dick, it was just his sense of humor. Knowing that his co-worker probably wouldn’t catch on to that, he was looking forward to his reaction. He’d probably be caught off guard or something, “You should really be paying attention to the people walking into your job, you don’t know what kind of crazy people those scientist saved.” Matt leaned up against the check out counter and kept his eyes on him.

Some might call this good luck but honestly she didn’t see it that way at all. J5…that was where she was supposed to be, she’d just been avoiding going there for as long as possible. Thinking that maybe, maybe there was some way out. Now it had become apparent she wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon it was inevitable she would have to go there.

“Yes…I do actually” she replied a little reluctantly not really expecting her supposed ‘husband’ to be…well really she had idea what she was expecting honestly. “That’s where I live” she added her expression somewhat unsure. That statement pretty much spoke for itself, he could easily put two and two together without her having to say anything else. Sighing heavily as she rubbed her temples trying to think how best to approach this, though it seemed the other wasn’t too bothered. “I suppose I should at least give you my name” she offered, “I’m Aqua.”
“Ah, so you’re the lucky lady.” He dropped the piece of paper and placed his hand in his pocket. Was he lucky he ran into his wife or was this a series of bad luck? First, he woke up and felt all groggy and stuff. Second, he was told he had to reproduce with some woman he didn’t know. Third, he didn’t have his PGS. Lastly, ‘Aqua’ did knock his cigarette out of his mouth.
“Are you made out of water or something?” He wasn’t being serious, but he kept a straight face. Hopefully he wasn’t paired up with some idiot. That would be another unlucky thing.

He almost forgot, “I’m Matt, miss Jeevas.” She did technically have to have his last name here, and he wasn’t really worried about people knowing it. After all he doubted Kira would kill anyone here, or anyone with that kind of power would act out here. After all their punishment would be terrible by the people running this place. If he did die unnaturally they’d probably revive him anyways or something.

It seemed her sense of awareness had dropped since she’d stepped out of that tube and bumping into people had suddenly become a recurring act. Maybe everything was just too overwhelming, or perplexing to be more precise that her mind had yet to process what on earth was going on. Still wasn’t much of an excuse as she collided slightly with another’s shoulder. The collision was small, but enough that what looked like a cigarette had been knocked out of his mouth. “Oh I’m…” she trailed off as he didn’t look all too happy cursing a little at the loss of his cigarette.

“…Sorry? I wasn’t paying attention” she finished off her sentence glancing down to see he was holding a piece of paper, which most likely held living quater directions on. Though it seemed she’d already managed to annoy the red head she supposed she could help if he was searching for his apartment, unless he was avoiding it like she was. Unfortunately she’d have to go there sometime, she couldn’t just wander around forever. “Are you looking for your apartment? That paper…” she inquired gesturing to said paper in his hand. “Your apartment number right? Maybe I can help?” She offered if not to make up for making him drop his cigarette, as trivial as that seemed to her.
Matt stepped on his cigarette to make sure it was out before he actually examined the person that knocked into him. She wasn’t bad looking, but the blue hair was something that wasn’t ordinary. He pulled out another cigarette, “It’s alright, I just have to waste another one.” He rolled his eyes.
Once she pointed out his piece of paper, he lifted it up to his face to look at, “J-5” he read it off. He wasn’t avoiding going there he just didn’t feel like it yet. She probably knew where the apartments were, “Do you know where that’s at?” He didn’t expect her to know where that exact apartment was. She probably was just being polite anyways.

If she did know where that apartment was she either lived close to it, or she lived in it. The chances of this girl being his wife was high. Not that, that he’d really care either way.

So he was saved from a nuclear bomb? Matt didn’t really care if he was saved or not, but since he was these doctors and shit are expecting him to reproduce with some random girl he hasn’t even met? He didn’t really care about that, or having kids with her. Would he still be able to game and stuff though?
He checked his pockets for his PGS and it wasn’t in there… ‘What a piss off.’ How was he supposed to waste his time now? Mello probably didn’t make it, nor anyone really important probably made it.

What he was really craving was a cigarette. Luckily those were at least saved, this might be the last pack left. Impossible. If he needed to he would save his last one and make the scientist in this place figure out how to make him more. It was a necessary thing for him to have on his person at all time.
He lit it up his cig and looked down at the paper that had his apartment number on it. He didn’t really know where they were, so he guessed he would just mindlessly walk until he found it.
‘Really, I rather be dead then limited on smoking, and not fucking video games. This is worse than Hell—’ his thoughts were cut off by someone bumping into him, now he wouldn’t have really cared, but it caused him to drop his cigarette.
“Damn it..”
